There is a vast covered area, what the distributors would call a shanty town or illegal settlement, that hides a community beneath an EMF shield canopy. No electric signaling passes in or out. It’s mostly made of solar panels, scrap and wired up for the block. The surface ripples with a dispruptive pattern that jumps and shifts when its day working and blacks out at night. Patrols can’t see it until they are about 6 feet away and by that time the comms had already known they were coming for an hour or two and moved everyone. Patrols don’t come that often anyway, because the timer operators don’t want them inside the forest. They are hiding part of their operation too. Everyone is hiding from the central authority, taxation, violence. The edges are extremely dangerous and also a necessary territory of exchange.
